Ashwood has had yet another successful visit to the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) with 5 Blue ribbons, 5 Champion ribbons and all 4 Group ribbons to show for it.
The magnificent Ashwood Knockout again took out Grand Champion Bull (a back to back achievement, having won it as a Junior Bull in 2015). At just 2 years old Knockout weighed in at 910 kg with an EMA of 120. His “stable mate” Ashwood Jeu d’Esprit (3yo, 1084 kg, EMA 130) was Reserve Senior Champion bull.
Ashwood Cheddar Pink 1 was named Junior Champion Heifer and Ashwood Larry was Reserve Junior Champion Bull.
With such an outstanding lineup Ashwood also took out all 4 Group classes (Pair of Females, Pair of Bulls, Breeder’s Group and Progeny Stakes). The sire of the Progeny Stakes was Bongalabi Fantastic, purchased by Ashwood in 2014, and continually producing quality calves.
Here are some Devon fans getting up close and personal with the ” Big and Scary” 1084kg Ashwood Jeu d’Esprit.
